DUI/DWI clients who are taking part in drug treatment centers are either there by their own choice, but usually in alcohol and drug treatment as part of a mandatory court order. DUI/DWI clients, especially first-time offenders could be ordered to rehabilitation either in place of other penalties or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients may benefit greatly from rehabilitation instead of being punished for their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been proven that individuals who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues instead of other penalties being forced upon them have far better odds of remaining out from the courts than those who find themselves fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In alcohol and drug treatment centers DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse alcohol and drugs, in order to address these problems and find resolution to the actual situations and circumstances within their lives which trigger their drug or alcohol use. This may certainly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those that may be impacted by their drug abuse if they drive while under the influence in the future. It's a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
