Criminal justice clients are people who are in any kind of drug and alcohol rehab center as a result of alcohol or drug related criminal offense. This will occur for example if a person is convicted of driving under the influence or DWI, or any other type of drug related offense that has led a legal court to believe the individual has any kind of drug abuse issue. Not every person has the option of getting involved in a drug rehab center as a criminal justice client, but when this approach is ordered by the court it's wise that the individual do everything they can to take full advantage of this chance. On many occasions, other penalties and consequences could be totally eradicated or lessened if the individual does well in rehabilitation and finishes the drug rehab program that is ordered for them. New offenders would be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been verified that criminal justice clients that do take part in rehabilitation in place of other penalties have much lower recidivism rates than those who are ordered to prison time or receive other penalties. In the long run, it saves the court system both time and money when criminal justice clients obtain effective rehabilitation.
