Criminal justice clients are those who are in any sort of drug and alcohol treatment center due to alcohol or drug related offense. This will occur for instance if someone else is convicted of driving under the influence or DWI, or any other kind of drug related offense that has led the judge to think the individual has any sort of drug or alcohol use issue. Not every person has the option of taking part in an alcohol and drug rehabilitation center as a criminal justice client, but when this option is ordered by the judge it's wise that the individual try everything they can to take full advantage of this chance. Oftentimes, other penalties and consequences can be entirely eliminated or lessened in the event the individual does well in rehabilitation and completes the drug and alcohol treatment program that has been ordered for them. First-time offenders are the most probable criminal justice clients because it has been determined that criminal justice clients that do experience rehabilitation in place of other penalties have significantly lower recidivism rates than those who find themselves ordered to incarceration or similar consequences. In the long run, it saves the court system both time and money when criminal justice clients obtain powerful treatment.
