Criminal justice clients are people who are in any sort of alcohol and drug rehab program because of a drug or alcohol related crime. This will occur for example if someone else is convicted of driving under the influence or DWI, or for any other type of drug related crime which has led a legal court to believe the individual has any sort of substance abuse issue. Not everybody has the option of getting involved in a drug rehabilitation center as a criminal justice client, but if this option is ordered by the judge it's strongly advised that the individual do everything they can to make the most of this chance. On many occasions, other penalties and consequences might be completely eradicated or lessened if the individual does well in rehab and completes the drug and alcohol rehab facility that is ordered for them. First time offenders would be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been determined that criminal justice clients that do experience rehab instead of other consequences have much lower recidivism rates than people who find themselves ordered to prison time or receive other penalties. In the end, it saves a legal court system both time and money when criminal justice clients receive effective rehabilitation.
