Criminal justice clients are people who are in any sort of drug rehabilitation center because of alcohol or drug related offense. This will happen for example when someone is convicted of drunk driving or DWI, or for any other kind of drug related criminal offense which has led the judge to think that the individual has any type of substance abuse issue. Not everyone has the option of taking part in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility as a criminal justice client, but when this option is ordered by the judge it is wise that the individual do everything they are able to to make the most of this opportunity. In many cases, other penalties and consequences might be totally eliminated or lessened when the individual succeeds in rehabilitation and finishes the drug and alcohol treatment center that is ordered for them. New offenders will be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been proven that criminal justice clients who do take part in rehabilitation in place of other penalties have significantly lower recidivism rates than those who are ordered to incarceration or receive other penalties.
