Criminal justice clients are individuals who are in any type of alcohol and drug treatment program on account of a drug or alcohol related offense. This will occur for example if someone is found guilty of drunk driving or DWI, and for any other type of drug related offense which has led a legal court to believe the individual has any sort of drug or alcohol use issue. Not every person has the option of getting involved in a drug rehab center as a criminal justice client, but when this option is ordered by the judge it's well advised that the individual do everything they are able to to take full advantage of this opportunity. In many cases, other penalties and consequences could be entirely eradicated or lessened when the individual succeeds in treatment and completes the alcohol and drug rehab center which was ordered for them. First-time offenders are the most probable criminal justice clients because it has been established that criminal justice clients that do experience rehab in lieu of other consequences have much lower recidivism rates than people who find themselves ordered to jail time or similar consequences. In the end, it saves a legal court system both time and expense when criminal justice clients obtain powerful treatment.
