DUI/DWI clients who're involved in alcohol and drug rehab facilities are either there by their own choice, but most of the time in alcohol and drug treatment as part of a mandatory court ruling. DUI/DWI clients, particularly initial offenders may be ordered to rehab either in place of other penalties or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients can benefit greatly from rehab rather than being punished because of their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been established that people who are treated for drug abuse issues instead of other penalties being forced upon them have greater odds of remaining out from the courts than those who are fined, ordered to jail time, etc. In alcohol and drug rehabilitation centers DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse drugs and alcohol, to be able to address these issues in order to find resolution to the actual situations and circumstances inside their lives which trigger their drug or alcohol use. This will truly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people that may be affected by their drug or alcohol use when they drive while intoxicated down the road.
