Criminal justice clients are people who are in any kind of drug rehabilitation program on account of alcohol or drug related criminal offense. This will happen for example if someone is found guilty of drunk driving or DWI, or for any other kind of drug related criminal offense which has led the judge to believe the individual has any sort of substance abuse issue. Not every person has the option of taking part in a drug rehab program as a criminal justice client, however, if this option is ordered by the judge it is well advised that the individual do everything they can to take full advantage of this opportunity. In many cases, other penalties and consequences may be totally eradicated or lessened in the event the individual succeeds in treatment and finishes the drug and alcohol rehab program which was ordered for them. First time offenders would be the most probable criminal justice clients because it has been verified that criminal justice clients who experience rehab in place of other consequences have much lower recidivism rates than those who find themselves ordered to incarceration or receive other penalties. In the long run, it saves the court system both money and time when criminal justice clients obtain effective rehab.
