Criminal justice clients are those who are in any sort of drug treatment facility because of alcohol or drug related offense. This can occur for example when someone is found guilty of a DUI or DWI, or for any other type of drug related crime which has led the judge to think that the individual has any sort of drug or alcohol use issue. Not every person has the option of getting involved in a drug rehab center as a criminal justice client, but if this option is ordered from the court it's strongly advised that the individual do everything they can to benefit from this opportunity. Oftentimes, other penalties and consequences may be entirely eradicated or lessened when the individual does well in rehabilitation and completes the drug rehabilitation facility that is ordered for them. First time offenders will be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been determined that criminal justice clients that experience rehab in lieu of other consequences have significantly lower recidivism rates than people who find themselves ordered to jail time or receive other penalties. In the long run, it saves a legal court system both time and money when criminal justice clients receive effective rehabilitation.
